...Early in March, Avantgarde II (Arnold) and his German rider Angela Niemeyer Eastwood competed at their
first event since qualifying for the National Dressage Championships last August. They won
both Elementary Open Classes with over 70% to qualify for the Summer Regional Finals in
one go.
What made this victory so special was that six year old Trakehner/Hannoverian missed the
Nationals because he was close to death. Having had an anti-colic injection go badly
wrong, he spent nearly a month in Rossdales Newmarket hospital fighting for his
life.
On returning home he was a shadow of his former self and it was doubtful he would compete
again, but TLC, Equilibra and Saracens mixes helped him make a full recovery.
Equilibra are therefore delighted to present Angela and Arnold with an Equilibra
Achievement Award.
